On Meeting Iadya
Let me tell you about Iadya. I first met her in an official capacity, as one Councilor to another. Raeth was there to make the introduction. As he led her in, she already made quite an impression. Raeth barely came up past her shoulder. And Raeth isn’t exactly lacking in height. Galavarians run a similar range to humans on Earth. I was impressed, and that was just from a distance.
Standing in front of her was something else entirely. In Galavaria, you typically get used to everyone being naked. You’re naked, they’re naked, nobody makes a big deal about it. Then someone like Iadya stands in front of you, putting your head right at, ahem, chest level. It makes it trickier to ignore. Add that to the realization that this woman in front of you could toss you over her shoulder and just carry you off.
Let’s just say it took all my discipline to maintain eye contact. The full-body blush was something else entirely. At least Iadya and Raeth were too diplomatic to comment. There was a hint of mischief in Iadya’s eye, though. Better than outrage or disgust, I guess.
Okay, get the giggling out of your system. I haven’t even told you how the meeting went yet!
