“But I'm not tired, Daddy!”

“It's okay, dear one. Just lie down. You will be soon.”

“But I don't like it here. And it smells funny. I wanna go back home with mom.”

“Mom will be here when you wake up. I promise.”

“And Jake, too. Right?”

“Of course, honey. Your brother will be here, too.”

“Well can you tell me a story, at least?”

“I don't know if we have enough time. You really need to sleep soon.”

“Hmph. I just won't sleep until you tell me one! So you'd better get started!”

“You've got me there. Just lie back. Once upon a time...”

“Only silly stories start that way, Daddy.”

“All my stories are silly.”
