Time to Rest
“Time to rest, love,” She said. “You've been at this a long time.”
“Just a little longer?” I pleaded. “I feel like I'm just getting the hang of this.”
“I'm afraid not,” She replied. “Besides, you'll feel much better after you've rested. Ready to take on new ideas, new challenges. Haven't you noticed you've been in a bit of a rut lately?”
“I guess you could call it that. It's just what I'm used to. And I get lots of practice! Practice makes perfect, right?”
“Only in infinite time. You've gotten about as good as anyone ever has, I'll admit. I'm proud of all the work you've been doing.”
“That means a lot to me, coming from you. I just don't understand why you're so insistent that I stop.”
“Just for a while, love. You can come back to it later. We all need to rest some times.”
“Even you?”
“Even me.”
“I suppose I could use a break. My eyes get so tired these days. It will still be here for me later, right?”
“Of course.”
